Concor
With origins dating back to 1902 in the Western Cape, Concor (formerly Murray & Roberts Construction) has a long and proud heritage of more than 100 years.
Following its acquisition, effective 1 April 2017, by a consortium led by the Southern Palace Group (Southern Palace), which includes the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), Murray & Roberts Construction was renamed and rebranded as Concor.
Southern Palace is a wholly black-owned South African diversified industrial holding company with interests in numerous well-established businesses. Southern Palace is the new majority shareholder in Concor, followed by the Government Employees Pension Fund, represented by the PIC which now owns 25% of Concor. The acquisition signaled a historic moment in the company’s history. Concor is now a leading black-owned infrastructure and buildings services business based in South Africa and benefits from the 115 and 69 year legacies of Murray & Roberts Construction and Concor respectively.
