Daffonchio Architects was founded by Enrico Daffonchio, an Italian Architect, in 1996. The firm is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is active in Africa and Europe.
Our projects range from product design to entire precinct developments; from luxury homes to sustainable housing in Africa’s booming cities.
The firm’s architectural approach is strongly rooted in Daffonchio’s formative years in northern Italy, where classical architecture coexists with Italian rationalism, and the chemistry of tradition and innovation shapes all aspects of design.
The firm’s work is enriched through extensive traveling, a growing need for, and interest in, sustainable design, and collaborations with contemporary artists. More recently, the open source approach and parametric design are giving a powerful new direction to the firm’s work.
