LK Brick and Block is an independently owned and managed company that was established in 1987. At that period LK was based in Athlone on 600m2 premises, solely owned by MR Royker.

The company back then had one truck and one hand machine, on average about 500 bricks and blocks were manufactured per day. The number of employees was no more than seven, which included the truck driver and Mr. Royker himself.

Most of the bricks and blocks manufactured at this stage were only for home alterations. As the demand for bricks and blocks increased tremendously, LK Brick and Block moved to bigger premises +-4000m2.

Omar Royker, son of Mr. Royker officially joined the company in 1994 and later joined by his brother Anwar Royker.

Currently, LK Brick and Block employs a staff complement of 30 from the surrounding community and has increased premises to 6000m2. the company is owned and managed by Mr A Royker and sons.
